Frequently Asked Questions

What is Clarity4Couples?

Clarity4Couples offers free short quizzes and in-depth, paid questionnaires for relationship reflection, with optional AI-generated summaries based on your own answers — designed for self-reflection and personal growth, not as a substitute for professional therapy.

What's the difference between a quiz and a questionnaire?

Quizzes are short and completely free — 8 to 18 questions, scored instantly, no payment ever required, and no account needed to take one. Questionnaires go much deeper: most run well over 80 questions across many sections, with the first section free and full access unlocked for a one-time $99 payment. Only questionnaires are eligible for optional AI Analysis.

Do I need to create an account to use Clarity4Couples?

Not to take a quiz. Anyone can answer a quiz and see their result without registering. A free account unlocks the detailed breakdown behind that result and lets you keep going with more quizzes. Questionnaires do need an account before you can answer them, even the free first section. Creating an account never costs anything, and no payment is needed until you choose to unlock a full questionnaire.

Are quizzes free?

Yes, always. Every quiz is free from start to finish with no purchase required, including your results. You can take one and see your score without even creating an account; a free account shows you the detailed breakdown behind it, and a membership keeps your results and tracks them over time.

What happens to my answers if I take a quiz without an account?

They are sent to our servers only so the quiz can be scored, and then discarded — we don't store them, don't create a profile for you, and don't try to work out who you are. Your browser keeps an encrypted copy of the result for the rest of your visit, so if you create a free account you'll see the detailed breakdown without answering everything again. Close the tab, or finish signing up on a different device, and that copy is gone — you'd simply take the quiz again from your account.

How much does a questionnaire cost?

The first section of every questionnaire is always free, so you can feel the depth and tone before committing. Unlocking a full questionnaire costs $99, which also includes 3 AI Analysis credits to get you started. If you use those up, additional AI Analysis credits are available in packs of 5 for $49.

Can I try a questionnaire before paying?

Yes — Section 1 of every questionnaire is free to complete. You'll see the remaining sections once you unlock full access, and your progress is saved so you can return anytime.

What does the membership actually give me?

An optional membership ($9.99/mo or $99/yr) enables storage and long-term tracking of your completed quizzes and questionnaires over time, including across different partners. It's not required to take a quiz or questionnaire once — it's for people who want to revisit their history later.

Can I gift a questionnaire to someone?

Yes. From your dashboard, choose "Gift access" on a questionnaire and enter your recipient's email. You pay full price now, and they get an email with a link to sign up or log in and claim it for free. Some questionnaires ask a few quick yes/no questions before you can gift them, to help make sure gifting is appropriate for the situation.

Can I gift a quiz to someone?

There's no need to — every quiz is free for anyone to take, without even creating an account. Gifting only applies to paid questionnaires.

How do I send a questionnaire or quiz to my partner?

Choose the Partner-Use version from your dashboard and enter their email. They'll get an invite to answer it themselves — answering is free for them, since you've already covered the cost. Nothing is shared automatically: you'll only see their answers once they choose to submit and approve sharing.

What is your refund policy?

You may request a refund within 24 hours of your purchase, and we won't ask you why. Do it yourself from Settings > Billing: within the window a “Request refund” button appears next to the purchase.

Three things close that window early, and all three are in Terms Section 8. A gift can no longer be refunded once the recipient has claimed it, and a Partner Questionnaire once the person you sent it to has opened it — in both cases someone else already has what you paid for. And you can refund any given questionnaire once; if you buy the same one again, that purchase is final.

If the button isn't there, the reason is shown next to the purchase. If something still looks wrong, email support@clarity4couples.com and a real person will take care of it.

Can I change my email or password?

Yes, from Settings > Account. Changing your email requires confirming a verification code sent to the new address before it takes effect.

Can I deactivate my account?

Yes, from Settings > Account. Deactivating keeps your questionnaire answers, AI summaries, and purchase history safely stored — logging back in lets you reactivate and restores full access immediately. If you'd rather have your account and data permanently deleted instead, that's also self-service now: choose "Delete account," confirm via the emailed link, and it's deleted in 30 days — cancellable anytime in that window just by signing back in.

Where can I see my past purchases?

Your full order history, including payment status, is available under Settings > Billing.

Why do I need a second step to log in?

Every Clarity4Couples account needs at least one second factor: an authenticator app (TOTP, like Google Authenticator or Authy) or a one-time code sent to your mobile by text message. You'll be asked to set one up the first time you sign in if you haven't already. It exists because your reflections are private, and a password on its own is not enough to keep them that way.

Once that's in place you can also add a passkey — Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, or a security key — as a faster way to sign in. A passkey signs you in on its own, with no password or code needed, but it works alongside your authenticator app or text message rather than replacing it. Manage all of them from Settings > Security.

I lost my phone or authenticator app — how do I get back into my account?

If you set up more than one method — say an authenticator app and a passkey, or a text message — sign in with the other one, then replace the one you lost from Settings > Security.

If that was your only method, there is no self-service reset yet. Email support@clarity4couples.com and we'll clear it so you can enrol a new one and sign back in.

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Go to Settings > Billing and choose "Manage subscription" — this opens Stripe's secure billing portal, where you can update payment details or cancel anytime.

Are my questionnaire answers private?

Yes. Your responses are encrypted so that only you can access them directly, unless you choose to share them with someone else.

How does the AI analysis work?

If you purchase the AI analysis, your answers are anonymized and submitted to our AI model provider. Each questionnaire has its own customized, proprietary AI prompt, which is run against your answers to generate a personalized summary based solely on what you shared.

Is the AI analysis a substitute for therapy?

No. It's meant for personal reflection and insight, not as a diagnosis, treatment, or substitute for professional therapy or counseling. If you're navigating something serious, please reach out to a licensed professional.

Can I print or export my questionnaire answers or AI Analysis?

Yes, for questionnaires — open a completed one and choose "Print" to get a clean printable page with your answers and your AI Analysis, if you've generated one. Quiz results don't have a print option yet, but it's something we're planning to add.
